.
If memory serves correct, Accelerate has always been owned by Access CU.
The latest Scuttlebutt says Access will merge Accelerate into Hubert Financial later this year, or early next.
To each their own, but I'd go with Hubert instead.

I believe that Accelerate was the online version(Canada Wide) of Crosstown Credit Union and Hubert was the online version (Canada Wide) Sunova Credit Union. Both started with one person only and grew. At Accelerate I first dealt with Debbie and then Desiree was added. Debbie and Desiree were fantastic to deal with!!! I have talked to a few names at Hubert and they too are wonderful to deal with.
THEN
They both merged with Access Credit Union.
Access Credit Union people seem to dominate the Accelerate business and Debbie and Desiree have been dissipated into Access Credit Union or to unemployed?? And Bree is the new supervisor. The new contacts by phone are very starchy and sort of bewildered. I never feel that confident after the call. It all gets done but the service seems to be run of the mill and there is a lack of acknowledgement for customers with large deposits and minimal contact in relation to retention or common sense. <= if that makes sense. <= That includes Bree as well.
Hubert is good and has great people to work with. And I do believe they are not being kept up to date with the future of Hubert.
I would welcome the merging of Accelerate and Hubert only if the newly formed FI retained the Hubert website, policies and people.
Any one else out there, see the same?

When Sunova merged with Access and Noventis, we were told by management that no staff would lose their job and that staff would have more opportunities to apply for more jobs because of it being a larger organization.
Assuming this is true, your favourite employees may have moved on of their own volition and there is no guarantee who will stay at Hubert or its successor.
I find Hubert service is generally excellent. However, on the one occasion when something went wrong and I really wanted and needed to speak to a manager, none was forthcoming even though it was clearly a managerial (systems) issue. The best I could get was that they said they would pass along my concern, but nobody ever called me back. I found it disconcerting to think that accessing a manager was impossible. I felt the 3 CSRs involved were blocking me. So, if you managed to reach a supervisor at Accelerate, that sounds like an improvement to me!

I agree that my favourite people at Accelerate moved on elsewhere or were happily repositioned. If it was me that helped develop Accelerate and the rapport with the customer, and I was moved out to allow the operation to be taken over by Access, I would be looking to move on. And I don’t blame Access for doing so.....but they could have picked up a better business model for their low maintenance customers. I only spoke to Bree by default and had no idea she was a supervisor until she signed a GIC renewal letter. But did recall her harshness.
I have never been in the position to need a supervisor at Hubert as they are always good. But I have talked to her by default only.....her name escapes my aged memory.
I just hope they keep it as close to as it is at Hubert.
As of now Accelerate will have all GICs phased out. Will use them for savings account only along with cheques and debit card.

Accelerate Credit Union has same HISA interest rate as Access Credit Union, 3.45 percent, but Access has lots of local branches for you if you live in Manitoba. So a better combination if you want to stay in the same ecosystem might be Hubert and Access, since at least with Hubert you get the benefit of cashable 1 year GIC, and perhaps better telephone service than Accelerate.

Plus with Hubert....no charges to transfer out RIF RRSP or TFSA
I don't live in Manitoba ..... but Hubert was good enough to allow us to join from any province.
