I don't get duplicate interest with the internet bank accounts I have linked. I am not impressed with Accelerate policy - not sure I would deal with them. Is this a CU thing to pay duplicate interest? I don't know because I do not deal with any CUs.
JBil says he/she gets the double interest going both directions, so I don't think there's any reason to think it's an issue particularly with Accelerate. In this particular instance, it sounds more like Tangerine is doing the duplicating, as they must have given it starting on the 1st when the transfer was requested but the money was still at Accelerate. Surely money can only be in one place at a time, even if it's electronic money? However, Tangerine doesn't post the interest received until the end of the month as far as I know, so I'm not sure how one would verify this right now.

james1988, yes i did the math and yes they paid me 2 days of interest, even 4 days when overlapping a weekend.
ok for $10 it does not worth doing it, but for more money it becomes interesting.
Good thing. $10 is not trivial.
I deposited $5000 cheque on Sep 3 at Tangerine. It was deducted at CDF side on Sep 4. Let's see on Sep 30 will Tangerine pay me interest through Sep 3 to Sep 30, or Sep 4 to Sep 30? I will update then.

Just to be sure everybody understand: I do all my deposits with a CHEQUE. It is deposited the first day, but it takes 2 days before being withdraw at the other institution.
This trick was given to me by a person who was doing that really often and he had MUCH MORE money then I have.
My experience is 1 day only. I desposited a cheque (photo-cheque, maybe photo-cheque is fast to be settled?) at Tangerine Sep 3. It was cleared at CDF Sep 4.

I also encountered a problem linking Tangerine account with CDF account quite a while back. Neither bank could resolve the issue, both were asking to check with the other bank.
I suspected the issue was with account number at CDF, the account number was 11 digits long. I guess Tangerine can handle upto 10 digits easily and then the problem starts.
May I ask how long is the account number (that you were trying to link) at Accelerate?

Thanks Loonie, that is exactly why I posted in this topic.
Latest try I did yesterday. I had scheduled a transfer(via Tangerine) from CDF to Tangerine, there was a credit and then debit for the same amount in Tangerine. And this is even after the successful account linking from Tangerine side.
If I do the same transfer via CDF online, it works well, so I still think that the problem is with Tangerine.
One important thing to note is there are no transfer issues in Tangerine where the account digits are 10 (I also have chequing account with CDF which Tangerine is able to handle very well)
@JustMe, the account linking is successful, no doubt, but try to transfer some amount and you might face the problem.

Hi DevPatel, my CDF chequing account has 10 digits number. My suggestion is that: you remove the linkage at Tangerine site, then add it back to see if you can successfully link it.
I should say, Tangerine can handle 12-digit account number. My Coast Capital Savings Chequing has 12 digits and I can push and pull from Tangerine side without any problem.

Thanks for the response, james1900.
I tried unlinking and linking a couple of times, but transfers do not work :(.
But if Tangerine is able to transfer to the 12 digit account number, I don't understand what else can be the problem.
May be it is a problem actually with CDF if they don't allow withdrawals from unknown accounts. (CDF does not know about this Tangerine savings account, it has knowledge only about the linked Tangerine chequing account.
Let me post a question in the CDF forum, if this is what others are also experiencing.
Hi DevPatel, do you actually have your CDF cheque books? If yes, pay attention to the account numbers. Mine is a 10-digit number. You said yours is of 11 digits. Strange to me.
Second, did you link your CDF to Tangerine through electronic way (two tiny deposits)? If yes, I suggest you push a small amount from Tangerine to CDF and see how it behave.

Hi James1900,
Sorry if I mentioned 11 digit account number in chequing account. Chequing account nr is only 10 digits long and there is absolutely no problem with that account.
Problem is with savings account transfers where the acct nr is 11 digits long.
Actually my both account numbers are just customer ids prepended with numbers 60 for chequing and 880 for savings, a strange format I should say if this is the format for all customers :).
Tangerine tiny deposits worked fine. I had also tried push, but same issue as with pull. First withdrawal and then deposit of the same amount in Tangerine account and CDF guys said they did not get any request.
